Before adapting any habit, its first step is to define the end goal.In this case you have already decided to become a vegan.Therefore congratulations, you have already completed your STEP-1 of this diet transition.

Whether you are transitioning for health reason, supporting animals and Planet Earth, this step by step transition guide will help you to achieve your goal to become a Vegan.

Step 2 : Adopt Pilot Changeover Transition

Pilot changeover means the new habit replaces the old one but only in a small scale. From being hardcore non-vegetarian to extreme vegan can sometimes take a toll on your body.Its best to reduce meat consumption day by day which will help your body to adapt the new diet without any trauma.

Reduce your meat or fish diet to a day or two in a week.Replace it with delicious dishes which will help you to resist the meat.

Once you become habitual of eating plant based diet, remove that cheat day and voila! you are officially a Vegan.

Step 3 : Surf Recipes Online

Many non-vegetarians think that veganism is all about bland and costly food diet which is not the case at all.There are many vegans and vegetarians around the world then you think.For example; 40% of Indians are vegetarians and we all know how yummy Indian food tastes.

Try to look on Youtube and Google about these tasty recipes from different countries around the world.

Step 4 : Don’t Forget Your Vitamins and Protein

Meat and Fish are rich in vitamins and proteins.It is hard to get the same level nutrients from plant-based diet.Therefore you need to take supplements of certain nutrients which are not so high in vegan diet.Examples of these nutrients are Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Iron and Protein.

Step 5 : Subscribe to Meal Subscription Boxes

In the start of your diet transitioning, it can be a little stressful to prep for meal daily.Therefore try and find out some meal subscription box.The box contains all the groceries with perfect measurement which you will need to cook for a particular dish.

Examples of such meal subscription boxes are Hello Fresh, Sun Basket, Freshly etc.

Step 6 : Surround Yourself with Positivity

It is well known that food and mood are inter-related.Any change in eating patterns can cause mood swings.So it is very important to surround yourself with a good company.

Follow some really good vegan account pages on Instagram, Reddit and Facebook for day long motivation.My personal favourite community is r/vegan on Reddit.

Step 7: Try Vegan Substitutes for Meat and Dairy

In market there are several vegan substitutes of your favorite food.Try out these substitutes whenever you are craving for it.

I personally love almond milk and vegan cheese.They are healthy and delicious
